NORMAL — A Twin City surgeon was among those honored Tuesday night by the McLean County Chamber of Commerce during its annual Leaders of Distinction Awards program, hosted by the chamber and The Pantagraph at the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in uptown Normal.
Dr. Paige Holt, a board-certified plastic and reconstruction surgeon of Twin City Plastic Surgery, won the Athena Leadership Award. Other finalists for the award were Pamela Reece, deputy city manager of the town of Normal, and Roxanne Hartrich, sales manager and licensed Realtor for Becky Gerig at Re/Max Choice.
Also honored at the event were winners of The Pantagraph’s 20 Under 40, which honors 20 Twin City leaders under the age of 40.
Holt was recognized for initiating a grass-roots social media movement called the “be FOR the AFTER project,” which supports women in their endeavors. She also fosters collaboration among various fields, volunteers at her children’s schools and her church, and hosts a Bible study in her home.
Holt received a $10,000 grant from the Plastic Surgery Education Foundation in 2015 for Breast Reconstructive Awareness. In conjunction with the Community Health Care Clinic, she has treated poor and uninsured patients of this community.
